Terran Confederated Republic Marine Corps

The Marine Corps is the smallest branch of the Terran Confederated Republic's Armed Forces. Almost exclusively attached to naval assets, Marines operate as a rapid attack force, able to put out a startling amount of firepower and cause staggering amounts of damage in rapid succession. They coordinate closely with the Navy, frequently using strike craft and orbital munitions to their advantage during their lightning-fast advances. Marines are also frequently used in boarding actions on naval or civilian vessels, or to enter possibly hostile spaceborne platforms and stations. During ship-to-ship combat, the Marines' duty is to defend their post, and follow the orders of the ship's commanding officer.

Structure

Like nearly every military organization in human history as well as its sister services, the Marine Corps is organized into four tiers; Officers, warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted personnel. Officers represent the best the branch has to offer, giving commands and seeing that the nation and her colonies are protected. Warrant Officers are afforded the respect of junior Officer, but without the full privileges of one due to their essential knowledge and skills. Non-Commissioned Officers represent squad leaders, fireteam leaders, and possible future officers. The enlisted man represents your typical grunt. The Marine Corps is unique in that it does not possess a Field Marshal or Fleet Admiral equivalent position, as this level of command is always given to another branch depending on the theater of battle. As with all three branches of the TCRAF, they utilize a stratified rank-grade system based primarily off of the former United States' military.
