Khelme Xarrill

Khelme Xarrill is a reserved female human that occasionally frequents the King's Arms Tavern & Inn within the town of Daemarrel. Innkeeper Mirel Basta and Server Aenwyn Wysadove will admit that she visits the Tavern frequently and is usually alone when doing so. She spends her time arriving for lunch and staying through dinner, eating both meals at the Tavern. During that time, she is often visited by students from Arkhen's Invocatorium and the Lady's College who engage her in brief conversations. Khelme is also visited by the student Balryne Myani from the Lady's College, who spends a lengthy amount of time talking with Khelme as she eats. Balryne has also been known to introduce friends of hers to Khelme, who have come back alone to continue conversations with Khelme.

Mirel Basta finds Khelme to be just an odd patron of her establishment. She's quiet, doesn't cause problems, pays for her meals and drink without hesitation and tips moderately well.

Khelme Xarrill is an agent of the Cult of Chaos and is attempting to recruit followers away from the Lady's College and Arkhen's Invocatorium in an effort to bolster the ranks of the Cult. She does this by gaining the trust of students disenchanted with the progress of learning at their respective schools, and offers them an opportunity to learn at an advanced pace along with gaining access to magics that are forbidden at their current schools.

She is introduced to these students through Balryne Myani, who unknowingly is a Lolthite Drow infiltrator. She is 'unknowing' due to the fact that the Lolthite Priestesses altered her memories through the use of the Mindrape spell. They planted false memories of her being a follower of Eilistraee from the stronghold of the Promenade of the Dark Maiden. They also altered her memory and personality to make her extremely sociable in an effort to gather information and research about the social norms of surface dwellers. They also planted an additional memory, that she absolutely and unquestionably trust and listen to the commands of Khelme, who Balryne also believes to be her adoptive Mother.

Balryne eagerly visits with Khelme at the King's Arms Tavern and fills her in on all the gossip, goings-on at the College, and the residents and news of Daemarrel. When introduced to a new student by Balryne, Khelme then manipulates their motivations into joining the Cult of Chaos, eventually leading them to the Cultists and Lolthite Drow via a secret Drow passage underneath the Daemarrel Necropolis. Balryne isn't fully aware of the details of what happens with the students after they are introduced to Khelme. She simply believes they are making the decisions for themselves to advance their career in magic.

Khelme carries a vial of Purple Worm Poison that she will attempt to use on herself in the event that she is captured and interrogation is suspected.
