The Spirit Hunters

"Ancient spirits roam these lands. They walk amongst us all, look at them! Does that look like it belongs in our lands? They deserve to rest, each and every part of that being,"

- Spirit Hunter Teskar, to Stitcher Pelbima

The Spirit Hunters are a group of magically adept warriors that have vowed to protect the bodies of the dead from being desecrated. They fight primarily against Necromancers and Stitchers, as well as any other being that disrespects the dead. This includes grave-robbers, and some of the Spirit Hunters have even gone after tomb-raiders, archaeologists, as well as any other beings that disrespect the dead in any way, shape, or form. Spirit Hunters are honourable paragons of a divine sense of justice, that beings have their place in their own lives, as well as their afterlives. They are inquisitors, not hunters for hire, but they listen to a story that a citizen is to give to them, as it'd aid in the passing of a spirit to what they belong to, their new home. Spirit Hunters are often found donning blue and white uniforms, with a sheath on their back for their blade of choice, and a quiver of crossbow bolts upon their side. As hunters, the arrows are tipped with a spell of binding onto any spirits that are unwilling to be transported to their respective afterlives.
The Spirit Hunters are locked in a conflict, unwillingly, with both the Necromancers and Stitchers, between Lydgartha and Scyllia. This battle between the two forces is seen as childish by the hunters, and despite the claims made by either side to have them be listed as enemies, they refuse and continue on with their work. Whenever a battle occurs with Spirit Hunters nearby, the Hunter's main job is to make sure that those reanimated are given a peaceful death, and that their creator meets a painful end in retribution. Also, the Spirit Hunters guard many of the pathway that lead to The Myriad's Tomb , as they know of the Myriad itself. This task is done out of respect for the leaders of Lydgartha, but they forbid to endorse their actions of brutality against their people. The Hunters offer solitude and guardianship to those wronged by the corrupted ways of the government that they work for themselves.

The Selection

The Spirit Hunters are a well-known group within the lands of Lydgartha, and hold some merits from beyond the dark land's hold. Many of those magically gifted will often sought out approval to join the Hunters from across the civilizations of Aitso. Recruitment is quite easy for this group, because of it, and it is even recommended for groups of these inquisitors to carry secondary uniforms for any trustworthy newcomers they may find on their journeys. The requirements are to just have a series of small capabilities with magic, and to also be a good person. This is determined by the people within the Hunters association through the senior member's masks. Whilst the junior members and the newest recruits have simple materials for their attire, the most seasoned Spirit Hunters are able to infuse their divination into their items of clothing. They can detect good with this power, and uses it often to make sure that evil has not slipped into their ranks.
Recently, this guild has broken a listing of nearly thousands of hunters, that all operate within the Greater Aitso Area. There may be few outside of Lydgartha, but there has been notice of members forming small groups together in places like Erialla, The Archthrone , and even the Shadowfell. The base of operations for Lydgartha holds the most amount of hunters altogether, along with some of the most powerful members of their organization.
