The Red Moon

Secret Societies linger around every corner of Aitso, they work within dark cathedrals, abandoned mires, and the slums of cities, that is, except The Red Moon. This secret society is integrated across all of Aitso's grand locations of civilisation. Hiding as regular people, with regular lives, across the far corners of anywhere and everywhere. The Red Moon is primarily made up of nocturnal monsters, able to assume the form of humanoid creatures. The main groupings of members to this organisation are werewolves, spectres, and especially vampires, due to their innate ability to hide within the masses of a normal civilisation. Their ultimate goal is to somehow create a world of darkness, without the sun, that they can thrive in. Most know of this as a pipe dream, an end goal that would be hard to gain, but some have turned to alternatives to their ideas, including venturing underground to civilisations that have either been abandoned, or plagued by evil already. This has sparked a conflict within the group, mostly between Werewolves, due to their natural environment being dense forests and nature, and spectres, vampires, and any other group of beings that were from below.
The Red Moon holds powerful places, especially amongst Mainland Aitso and the South Pole. Often, they are generations of families coercing to join with powerful diplomats, royals, and generals to militias. There are few instances of people finding this group by themselves, but they often make for the most devout members for this organisation. Although, they are restricted from higher sources of power, unlike the leaders of dark, druidic circles, and Vampiric Socialites. The Red Moon does have instances of alternative motives and goals, including amounting to more power, or gaining artifacts and bonds with other evil cults. The Red Moon sees itself as evil, and does not to try to hide it beneath falsehoods of goodness, or deceiving others into joining. They are evil, truthfully, willingly, and openly.

The Alternate End-Goal

As the group had grown, from small families to a secret society spanning across islands and continents, so did their ideals, and the chance of conflict for what is best for them. Beings that came from below, only to join the Red Moon have voiced concerns that their plan is too grand. Both as a concept to be done, and the potential enemies that they'd make from it. Blocking out the suns would be blasphemy, and would definitely involve action from Sol . Due to this, the Red Moon has shattered, in it's once-perfect system of order, with members not knowing who is fighting for what. In fact, many wars and conflicts, thought to be for other political reasons, were manipulated by those of opposing ideologies for the Red Moon. To go underground is what others believe is necessary to survive.

Amalgamations of the dead, made by Stitchers and Necromancers within the ranks of the Red Moon, these beings work as servants, slaves, mindless soldiers, anything undesirable. Made to do dirty work, without questions, as most mercenaries and sellswords would not be fond of aiding those who wish to end the world they live on. Those that do find out, and resist, are often turned into these morbid creatures. A fanatical coalition of vampires had began altering their bodies, melding them with bugs that they've found. The result are husks, multi-limbed with pronged tails. They're brought to life through Hundred-Year Lightning , and are found in hoards, or melded packs, in monstrous, mounds of flesh, with wreathing arms extended out far.

Pack Leader Ingvar

One of the founding members, and absolutists to it's original goals, Ingvar belongs to a pack of werewolves who live within an ancient forest that feeds off of the decaying plant life around it, in an endless cycle which keeps the forest as a labyrinth, shifting itself once every couple dozen years. Ingvar however, can speak to it. As a former druid, he knows of it's secrets, it's hidden places and sanctuaries, away from where change can occur. Ingvar keeps these places as his sanctuary, the leader of the Red Moon is a head of a circle himself, he does not need to do what his followers do for him. Ingvar however, before his joining of the druid circles and his gaining of the curse of lycanthropy, Ingvar was quite the powerful combatant, but since then, his serrated sword gas went from duels and combat, to rituals, hunting, and assassinations. He relishes in his new form, and is willing to put down anyone who questions his authority, or his plans.

Lord Evarrd of the Deep

One of those opposed to both Ingvar's rule and his plans, Evarrd holds a small settlement of vampires on the ocean floor, far from sunlight. Small tunnels exist near it, connecting to a vast cavern, abandoned homes across every stretch of land inside. Due to the extreme sense of pressure upon the ocean floor, gigantism is common for these aquatic vampires. Many grow to a large size, rivalling goliaths and ogres. The Red Moon no longer considers Evarrd or his group of subwater fiends as members, and even as enemies of their cause. Ultimately, they will one day return to the surface, if they succeed.
