Church of Olastra

The Church of Olastra is the organized body dedicated to the worship of the God Olastra. It is presence is particularly strong among nations and peoples of transient nature. The largest temple dedicated to Olastra is found in Havere - The Crystal Port.

Assets

The Church of Olastra has very few assets. The few that it does own are locally-run temples and shrines. The largest of these is the Temple of Olastra du Havere which is the residency of the Archguide, and the headquarters of the church.

Tenets of Faith

Worshippers of Olastra commonly refer to life as the Great Journey. Every mortal is traveling along their own path towards the Final Destination where if their journey was successful, will be rewarded with respite and everlasting peace. Olastrans believe that everyone has their own path and progression, and that enriching that journey is piety to the Great Traveler.   (see Olastra )

Ethics

Since the Journey and learning from the Journey of others is so important to followers of Olastra, Olastrans are forbidden to do anything that will impede their journey and the journey of others. The obvious sins are capital offenses like murder and rape, but this is extended to more trivial offenses like refusal to forgive and holding grudges.   The Olastran ethical code is generally live and let live. If you offend make amends, forgive, reform, and forget.   One must always be progressing through life, stagnation is as good as sin. So good Olastrans have a voracious curiosity. They want to learn about new things, peoples, and cultures and adapt what they like into their own journey.

Priesthood

The Preisthood of the Church is voluntary. They often called Guides or Leaders. Ranks of the Guides are determined by years of service to Olastra. Undoubtedly, the highest-ranking and most important guide the Archguide currently an old Sea Elf who resides in Havere - The Crystal Port at Temple of Olastra du Havere.   The Priesthood has no formal uniform, so the Guides tend to look slightly different from place to place. In general, they favor blue and earth tones which symbolize the traversal of water and earth - and is a extended metaphor for one's journey through life.   All Guides are required to upkeep a "tapestry" which is a collection of tattoos that narrate the Guide's journey through life. Generally, old Guides will have sleeves full of tattoos with depictions of important life events. The right forearm is dedicated to the "Traveler's Badge" which is a standard tattoo the marks years of service to Olastra. Every 10 years of service the Guide adds a new detail to the badge.   The ranks of the priesthood in order of prominence is as follows:
