Olastra

(a.k.a. The Great Traveler)

Olastra is the god of the ocean, travels, fraternity, empathy, and forgiveness. He is worshiped by people and cultures that travel on long voyages or deal with many different cultures. He is the patron god of language had enjoys when mortals can get along, work together, and help each other on their journeys of life.    Like the waves upon the land, a mortal's journey shapes them into their perfect forms. Olastra helps guide mortals along their paths. To Olastra, it is not the destination that matters as much as is the journey to get there.

Holy Books & Codes

Along the Way to Zartian is considered the main text of Holy Scripture for followers of Olastra. It is a first person narrative of the Priest Zennetu as he travels around Aasha performing miracles and blessing different peoples. The book predates the War of Ascension but was not considered canonical scripture until much after. The Circle of Sages do not have real evidence either way if Zartian was a real place or if the supposed author Zennetu was a real person. Many interpretations of the book describe Zartian as an allegory for the Final Destination, and the many stories and fables inside a guide to how to live one's life.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of Olastra is most commonly a tortoise on a blue background. In some iconography he is represented by a singe or a group of waves.

Tenets of Faith

Waves guide your journey
Worshippers of Olastra commonly refer to life as the Great Journey. Every mortal is traveling along their own path towards the Final Destination where if their journey was successful, will be rewarded with respite and everlasting peace. Olastrans believe that everyone has their own path and progression, and that enriching that journey is piety to the Great Traveler.   The devout followers of Olastra seek for common understanding among different peoples. They believe that peace and fraternity are the purest manifestations of God's will and power. Because of this they are more likely to learn multiple languages, travel the world, and be accepting of new ideas and ways of thinking.   Empathy, forgiveness, and honesty are the important virtues of the the Olastra faith. Many followers even use the phrase "I forgive you" to greet each other. Often times understanding why someone offended another, correction or treatment is more important than justice and punishment. The justice system in Havere - The Crystal Port reflects this sentiment. After a criminal is tried and found guilty, they can be forgiven if they can prove to the state that they've been reformed.
