Communist Party of the Soviet Union
The Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) or Somethimes the Bolshevik Party, is the current ruling party of The Soviet Union lead by founder Vladimir Lenin.
History:
The origin of the CPSU was in the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP). This was do to disagreements between the more authoritarian Bolsheviks and more libertarian Mensheviks under Julius Martov. By 1917, running on a program to end the war, land reform and beard, the Bolsheviks became increasing popular. Quickly after the failed Kornliov affair they staged the October Revolution leading to the founding of The Soviet Union.
Factions:
By the end of the Civil War in December 1918, many factions were forming within the party.
Trosktyists:
Led by Leon Trotsky, supporting the idea a “permanent revolution” foreign policy, hoping to pursue aggressive actions against the capitalist system across the world. While they lean towards some decentralization of governance, however, emphasize the importance of a vanguard to remain in total control.
Stalinists:
Led by Joseph Stalin that advocate a “Socialism in One Country” foreign policy that calls for the nation to start focusing on domestic affairs to secure communism fully. They generally favor, prioritizing heavy industrialization, collectivization, and state control of agriculture and resources to strengthen the Soviet economy and military. They criticize Nikolai for the NEP plan, claiming he is turning away from Marxist principles.
Taushevists:
Lead by Taushev Aleskeevich(a fictional character, not historical), that advocates, “Marxo-Syndicalism”, where the workers union run the economy while military takes control of foreign matters. They support permanent revolution, wishing for a more aggressive action. The Taushevists believe they can unite the long Anarchist and Marxist divide in opposition to Capitalism by proposing a middle ground.
Bukharinists:
Lead by Nikolai Bukharin, that wish to gradually approach communism by continuing pushing for the NEP plan, which would free up restrictions placed on both peasants and business owner's.
The Feminist Left:
Led by Alexandra Kollontai, they wish to advocate for a greater role for workers' councils (soviets) and trade unions in governance, opposing authoritarian centralization and resist heavy industrialization at the expense of rural development. Call for gender equality and social reforms to address class and gender-based oppression.
Technocratic-Communist’s:
Led by Gusev Tikhonovich (a fictional character, not historical), they wish to push more to blend Technocratic ideals with Communism. They wish to prioritize science to achieving a classless society, while endorsing the idea of Stalin foreign policy of “Socialism in One Country”.
