History
Established by a large tribe to protect their lands from expanding Amberland rule. The people have a philosophy of standing up for truth and justice and have made that the focal point of their cultural identity.
They are the most politically agreeable nation and their good intentions are often taken advantage of by more savvy powers. The region used to encompass the entire south of the continent but naive and merciful rule has led to the dominion eroding and fracturing over time.
The Southern provinces that broke away quickly cane running for help when the Sibian Freehold arrived on their shores.
The rebels, now beggers, asked the kingdom of Devland to ride to their aid and beat off the invaders. The current ruler had taken the rebellion poorly but resentfully agreed, until the Sibians offered him an incredible sum of gold, not to intervene. He agreed, the Sibians conquered and enslaved the smaller rebel states to the horror of the king. He was forever after known as the slaver king.
His descendants still feel the weight of his guilt as it acts as a constant reminder of the cost of selling your convictions.
Demography and Population
300,000 people
The Devish are famous for their rigid set of morale virtues. Their commitment to justice often placed them on the losing side of many battles. Their many conflicts with rebels and other kingdoms kept their population low.
As a result, the people of Devland are tough and well adapted to battle. Their reverence and romanticism toward knighthood made swordplay a key part of the culture and daily life.
Every boy and girl was taught to use one. Girls have to practice once a day until they got pregnant and boys have to practice three times a day until they buy a farm or start a business, then they only have to practice twice.

They have many fertile farms and orchards and they are known for producing many fine sweet fruits. The Bucket Sea is full of fish which they catch with hundreds of fishing vessels along the coast.
They have several iron mines including the "Mine of True Steel" as well as a coal mine, a silver mine and a copper mine.
They have a massive blacksmithing industry based on the skill of their many masters.
Trade & Transport
There are always ferries and trade ships running between Devland's main port and the many port towns of the Armlands.
