SDFZ Clockmakers Temple
SDFZ Clockmakers Temple, full name "Samonios Deforested Zone Clockmakers Temple of Bel" is a temple complex run by the Clockmakers religion.
What's the name of your building? Why?
- SDFZ stands for "Samonios Deforested Zone" which is an area directly north of Hagathorn Forest which has been completely cleared of organic materials. In this area, people are checked for bacteria and contraband before entering Beltane. This stretch of land provides a physical buffer between the plant-fearing North and the plant-adapted Midlands.
- Clockmakers are a religion who worship the deity Bel and believe him to be the source of electricity and radio.
What’s the purpose of this building?
- Final outpost before entering Hagathorn Forest, only point of communication between Beltane Clockmakers and the Hagathorn Clockmakers
- Houses a mix of Forest and Civil Clockmaker members, one of the few places the two sects mix
- Museum
- Final Train Station before Hagathorn Forest
- Graveyard/records/official building
- Tourist/Visitor information
How does this building look and feel?
- Feels very much like a museum/national visitors centre
- Made from stormglass and quartz marble
- Radio tower that is decorated like a watch face or six spoked wheels
- Sculptures and rock gardens
- There is no organic plant matter allowed in this area, and the Clockmakers show how aescetic living can be done in this area
Alterations
There was at one point a tunnel which led to the Hagathorn Forest Temple, which was at one point part of the Clockmakers' Diocese. Unfortunately, it was discovered the Hagathorn Forest Temple inhabitants had been eaten by the Godsibb Klepoth Lonomia during a harsh winter, and their corpses were found made of silk. Klepoth Lonomia escaped capture, and so the tunnel was blocked off.
