What's the name of your building? Why?

• Red Hand Refinery is named after the name "Red Hands", which is a colloquial name for the red algae seaweed which is harvested for resources and consumption
• It is called a Refinery, but it is more of a processing plant where they make agar/gelatin

What’s the purpose of this building?

• Processing seaweed/algae
• Training certain job classes (Mercatrix, Acolyta mostly) - so, a school/learning facility
• Store
• Major provider of foodstuffs to the region

How does this building look and feel?

• It was built by the Odonata, who had begun efforts to refine and preserve algae in partner with the Hooded Mothers from the Phoneutrian people and some of the more cooperative Gannwyll Gwydd.
• In Beltane, buildings are not allowed to be constructed of wood, so like many it is made of "Stormglass" and generates its own power
• The temperature of the environment is dependant on the weather, so sometimes it's very hot and sometimes very cold in there, and there is a constant hum from the stormglass
• There is a large seaweed garden in the bay as well as an established path in the water to Ghealas, particularly Avalon, but this stretch of water is quite regulated and features a tidal path used for Brine and Citron users especially.

Purpose / Function

Built as an agar processing plant, which it still functions as today. Its launch was responsible for a culinary and aquaculture revolution, which allowed a relatively segregated way to gather organic foodstuffs without growing plants themselves. It later expanded into a major trade and business place along the Salt Road.
