House Lohrian

The vast Lohrian bloodline hails from the fabled claimants of the Galasteri wayholding. Despite their reputation for courage, charity, and glory, their inner history has always been one of cunning, pragmatic politics, and careful maneuvering. Rather than dominance through strength, the Lohrian enforce stability through partnership... and the merciless pillage of any stubborn holdouts. With the fall of Mansa Savrias, the Lohrian are playing every card they hold to maintain power. The next Mansa must be theirs to claim.

Many elders among the clan are concerned that Queen Sarenna has not yet named a new successor, nor has she reclaimed the title of Mansa herself. Should she die? Rule passes to one of the two mad children of the Mad King, as more loyalists sit upon the council of ways than others. A half-blooded elfling with a renowned cruel streak or a sage whose mind was broken by Lion's Fall. Both paths end in doom.

Duty? Power? Honor? Pragmatism? Survival? Love? These are all one word to the Lohrian – leverage. This truth has not changed - only the stakes have grown. They lead or they die. They rise or they fall.

Motto. “A beast must mind its cousins.” Based on an old tale of warring lions, all eaten by the one lioness with her focus on the pride as a whole. In the end? The patient lioness outlived all other lions to rule.

Beliefs. The Lohrian, their agents, and those trained at their academies believe:

  • Knowledge is power. But power without leverage is useless. Learn first where to apply it.
  • We’re all beasts. By love or by chain, we must be tamed.
  • To be needed is to rule. Cultivate power that can be lent, but never sold.

Goals. Stand as cornerstones for a stable community, gather lore and valuable secrets, and provide the necessary value to dominate the Dream as dutiful leaders. Become indispensable and victory will follow.

Typical Quests. Typical quests for the Lohrian include breaking the backs of rival organizations, political intrigue, or turning new arcane discoveries towards a greater (or darker) social purpose.
