The Dream is vast and small at once. Within each of the meta-climates of the great regions lie popular hubs, smaller communities, and countless dangers, but there’s also a great amount of unresolved space that bends and fills to a certain narrative backfill. Much of the Dream could be argued not to exist much of the time, but where it does live? It thrives. It strains. It struggles. And in a few areas? It’s at risk to die.
Each of the regions takes influences from the realities and fantasies of cultures from our world, but follow their own paths. With each of these climates, wildly disparate peoples interact as neighbors, friends, rivals, and connected families. United by the land, the themes of the region’s Throne, and the watchful attention of the Muses, each region has its own part to tell in the larger story of the Dream.
That story, of course, is yours. Every game played out across the Dream is its own version of that Dream. This world may not revolve around your table, but then again, it just might! Consider the needs and perspectives of your players, the peoples they interact with, and the themes of your personal story. The dream is all about telling an engaging story of clashing, colliding, and connecting themes. Enjoy yours!
Within the Dream? Meaningless moments simply don’t exist.
