This paste can be used to unlock anything it is applied to. Stronger and more complex locks take longer and require more of the paste. The core ingredient is the
Hedgehog Grass which serves as both an active and effect ingredient.
The paste can easily deal with any mechanical or electronic lock that usually requires some key or passcode. To protect a lock from being opened by this paste a magical locking mechanism has to be applied. This can be in the form of a spell or ritual. The paste then needs to counter the strength of the locking spell in order to open it. The stronger the spell is the more paste and time is required for it to open.
Storage / Preservation
The paste is usually stored in glass or plastic containers. This ensures that the paste keeps its moisture. The paste remains usable for several years as beeswax has good magic-retention properties.
Production
The production of this paste is fairly well known amongst alchemist organizations and schools. The biggest challenge is always to source enough hedgehog grass to produce it. The alchemist has to process the grass and then work the oils into the beeswax to create the paste.
Restrictions
The paste is on the list of restricted products of the
International Alchemist's Association. This means that only licensed alchemists are allowed to produce this paste and only sell it to approved customers, including law enforcement organizations and intelligence agencies. On the black market the paste is rarely found but is usually at least ten times as expensive when available.
Such a cool alchemical paste. I'm quite glad its sale and production is restricted, though. You wouldn't be able to trust any locks. XD
