Gogu Ilionescu was born in a small village outside of Bucharest, which was part of the Principality Wallachia. He was born without sight and has remained blind even when he was turned into a vampire. However, the vampirism improved his other senses and allowed him to better navigate the world. He spent several decades traveling all across Europe, aquiring new skills and knowledge. He became a skilled composer and pianist with worldwide renown under different pseudonyms.
