Pre-Cataclysm Temple p2.

by Caches Brimming Beard

Petals the Drow Monk from the monastery who seems to only speak in Haikus (seventeen syllables) and I set out to investigate rumors of a Pre-Cataclysm Temple discovered in a remote area of Solamnia. With us was a Knight named Ispin Greenshield from the Order of the Sword as our guide.
Ispin is an older human man, in full armor. He wears a helmet with Horns that curl forward like Dragon horns. The helmet has a T slit in the front for his face. His silvery/white chin hairs stick out the front on the bottom. He carries with his a large sword and a Green Shield. Super nice guy, very chatty, good sense of humor.

Along the way I just asks Ispin a MILLION questions. To which I record in my journal all his answers and the 40+ parts to his knights oath.

We find the ruins of crumbling stone structures covered in vegetation taken back by the land. As I stepped through the 1st threshold, I was immediately transported to what looked like a field by myself, surrounded by bodies in piles all around me and sounds of banging metal. One body before me was clutching something in its hand on its chest. I was drawn forward, pulled almost toward whatever it was to the point I reached out for it and touched it. When I did the object in the hand began to glow from a small light, brighter and brighter till it was blinding. To me the medallion in my hand looked like the heavens above, just and swirling explosion of stars and planets.

Next thing I knew Ispin was asking, "Are you coming?" to both Petals and I, it seemed something similar happened to Petals. I looked down at my hand, the medallion was gone.

We come to what appeared to be the outside of the Temple. A Mural on the outside door lay before us. On it was 2 Dragons swirling around a 4 pointed star with a square relief in the middle and a man below the star holding a book up. 3 Tablets laid on pedestals, one a Deer, another a Knight, and the third a Baby Dragon Curled Up. The answer was The Dragon Tablet to open the door.
The 2 Dragons represented 2 Gods: Paladine (The Father of Good, the Master of Law, the Platinum Dragon.) & Takhisis (Takhisis, leader of Krynn’s evil gods, is known as the Dragon Queen and the Queen of Darkness.)
The star representing the Neutral God: Gilean (The god of knowledge and nominal leader of the neutral gods, Gilean embodies the ideal of neutrality. He stands back and observes, recording all that unfolds. Gilean is the
keeper of the Tobril, a book said to contain all the knowledge of the gods.)

The inside was a chamber with another door with a mural of a Knight holding his hand up with another Relief where his weapon would be. The answer was a Lance, representing the Dragon Lance from some famous Knight I know what I can't remember right now. :/

Then beyond that another chamber with another door with a mural of a man with his arms raised up and a relief above his hands, this one only 1 tablet of at first glance looked like a meteor, up close it revealed it was once a picture of a crown. Ispin opened this door, revealing the final chamber of the temple.

Inside the final chamber to the far right corner, I saw and was drawn toward that same medallion. I reached out and grabbed it with my right hand. When I did I was transported again in my mind to a different place, surrounded by fire all around me, and a voice called out speaking directly to me. He/they said to me, that they will light the spark of creation inside of me to a raging inferno. I accepted their offer, but when I asked who they were or their name they never responded.

Next thing I know, I'm back in the room and I'm holding the medallion. Ispin asked what Petals and I found. So I raised the medallion high above my head in excitement to show him and Petals. Ispin said it was the symbol of Reorx (Reorx is the god of creation, inspiration, and artisanship, credited with creating the gnomes, dwarves, kender, and even Krynn itself. He invents new things that alter the world and spur its people to action.)

Petals never showed me or Ispin what he found. I don't know, maybe he doesn't trust me just yet, but I'll change his mind one day. I have a feeling this isn't the last I'll be seeing Petals because when we got back to his Monastery the older monks never knew he left. They said they never hired me, but when I checked my bag there is the payment in full, paid before hand. Ispin apparently had some sort of vision or something himself, and said he will have to speak with some of his contacts then speak to Petals and I again.

I asked Ispin how he will find us, does he want us to stay here? Is there somewhere we need to go? To which the silly old man just said, "I'll find you." What was that about?

What is yet to come, I don't know. What was with those crazy visions? Was that Reorx who was speaking to me? Did I make a deal with a God? Am I a champion of a God now? What did I just get myself into? What is happening? Wait, why me? Uhh, oh crap. What did I just sign up for?
