NOT IN MY FUCKING PHONE
So WOW. What a day. I'm glad I got a hug from Ben before I left, because I don't think I would've had the energy for this otherwise. I met so many people, and memorable ones at that.
The first people I see? None other than two of my favorite characters from one of my favorite animes! Hayato Hashimoto and his pal Baby Bear! I maaaaay have gone a little overboard in my excitement in meeting them. They were collectors items that actually talked and had sentience. I came to realize they didn't really know about their show, nor were they really psyched about it. Baby Bear's a bit of an ass, but Hayato's cool. I just got off on the wrong foot with him. I'll be sure to reintroduce.
I also met an interesting pirate. Captain Darius Blackbone. He's about my age and he's already a captain, or an admiral rather. All through a game of god damn Blackjack of all things. Lucky and strange dude.
Alongside Darius was a wacky scientist (later learned his name was Leonardo). He just took my measurements out of nowhere and offered to make me a jetpack... but I don't know if I'll take it after I saw him go nuts on another student at the social. We'll see.
Getting to more of a sense of normalcy, I met a prince from France: Ephraim was the name, and his twin brother Adam Jr. (AJ). They were pretty chill and more approachable.... but still... a prince. So far there's a lot of competition here... and I'll come to see that's just the tip of the ice berg.
I'm in Hall Wayfinder with the magic heavy majors. An Enchanter myself, hoping to use those skills to better learn what happened to me. But my classmates? HOO BOY. They're all smart as hell. Good thing is, most of them are pretty chill. The ones I remember?
There's Duncan. A laid back duck (still can't believe I'm admitting that I talked to a DUCK) with a great smile. If that dude doesn't have a guy/gal or two in his pocket I'm gonna be shocked. He's also kid to a legendary wizard, Donald. Second was Roxanne. She's a dog (still processing this too) with a kind soul, and an eye for skaters hahaha (OH! Maybe that Max Goof kid who rigged the rock show at the assembly! God he's cool). They're both healers and from what I can tell they'll be good people to count on.
I will say though, the ones I connected more with are Moya and Terrant. Moya is quippy and energetic, quite striking in difference to her twin brother Kiri (quiet kid who loves ships and oldies). She's super smart, but one of the other students Chikai gives her a bit of a hard time (self proclaimed master, she says he's a good guy but he feels like he needs a notch taken off). She and I connected more and made sure I came to the social, so I guess we'll be hanging out a bit more often. She's one of Sora's kids, one of the leading founders of Daybreak Academy from what I can put together, with a whole family of keyblade wielders. Terrant? My god that kid is SMART. I can definitely tell he's a science nerd, but more theoretical and sci-fi, up my ally. He's very inquisitive and humble. He also has an adorable cat named Figaro... and he's the son of a "Princess of Heart" named Alice. Wow.
Almost everyone here seems to come from somewhere, someone who had a keyblade before them. Like, it's not elite, but... it's a lot to compete with. Like they all say, I'm a kid from the "boonies" (Twilight Town is in the outer areas of the worlds, more disconnected). I reconnected with Jimmy today too, and even he feels like he's gone places... while I've fallen behind because of a damn curse... it just feels frustrating. But a challenge is a challenge, and there's no way in hell I plan on giving up or being intimidated by this. Besides, like Moya told me, a lot of people start off like this. It's a lot to wrap your head around at first, and most people don't start out like them. Her father actually started out like me. Just got a keyblade one day and the rest is a "long weird history." And that sounds just fine to me.
With that, it's time to work on my own "Weird History."
Mom, Dad, Ben, I won't let you down.
