April 11th - Chang-Er
We set up to ambush Galvao's convoy on Jīnyīng (金鹰) Avenue: Beñat orders the five CPLF to lay down cover fire, two on each side. We make quick work of the job. One of the guards makes it away, and we make a hasty retreat w/ Alana in tow.
As we leave, no one is there to stop or confirm anything. We pass by the census station to ensure we have no ground-to-air attacks. There are ongoing weapons discharges showing up on our sensors from the station.
April 18th - Neuva Catalonia
As we arrive in the system, we get a transmission ping from our contacts. The Yuan Jiang naval task force will arrive in Chang-Er tomorrow, we're told to dock at the Cincastrellan naval base. We see 7 warships on our way in, and 1 battleship, that appear to be getting fitted out for operations. We land on said battleship. Astrid, Lucid, Aidan, Benat, myself, and Alana disembark. Captain Dora debriefs us, and there is a noticeable security detail for Alana. She passes over our paperwork enabling us to become certified as mercenaries, basically a letter of marque. We should go to the Mercenary Guild.
She also shows us a map, with a spot marked on the Jred Frontier. "We've recovered reports and after study, we believe there may be parts to your ship here." We take the information to check out later. After a debrief on our own to confirm our story, we're brought to a larger room to discuss rewards and further information.
Alana's early defection provides some difficulties for Dora. Her career careened into a ditch/plateaued when she was assigned to the Commodore, being the only one able to handle him for the Pariahans but also growing to resent the job over time.
Dora explains that the Yuan jiang republic elected to invade to deny the Pariahans the opportunity to do the same. Doing so cuts off Pariahan territory and will serve strategic goals for Stelsoc-aligned states.
