11–18 November – Miracle, Lysander Biochemical HQ
The official at Lysander Biochemical, whom we reported to, tasks us with tracking down the missing scientists and the pirates. "Nobody needs a bunch of pirates running around with an infinite supply of combat drugs." We send a message to Midgard for the Harrier du Bois to rendezvous with us in Caspia, which they'll receive in a week.
In the meantime, on one of Lysander's computers, Lucid manages to get onto the "deep web," but its actually the "dark web". (She's not half as hard as she thinks is) We're able to determine from social media posts from some of the pirates that they have a base in the sector. Lucid also pulls the names of some of their top players from ship to ship communications:
Captain Alionsa Bardem
Captain Jergal the Mad
Commander Steve 'the Ravager of a Thousand Worlds' Jones
With a bit of investigation, we can reason that Caspia, with its remoteness, low tech level (6, mid 20th century equivalent), and sparse population (under 10k), and it has a corsair base (CR on the Universal Identification System)
25 November – Caspia
We stealth jump into the system. The Harrier du Bois is already there, and lo and behold, the corsair base is operative and seems to be full of space kings activity. Lucid tries to hack into their communications, but essentially ejects a stack of punch cards in someone's office somewhere on board. It was a very impressive effort.
"What we could do is LIE ectually," Benat says, "We have been hired by Lysander Biochemicals, we want the scientists, we can take them dead or alive."
"But we don't want them dead," Lucid says
"Yeah, but they DON'T wanna be dead," Benat says.
"Let's make sure they actually are who we think they are first," Lucid says
Lucid runs a passive communications and a Cpt. Steve did come around about 2 months ago. So it seems that we may have found our The Space Kings. We need help. time to go to the anti-piracy guys in Scientia.
26-27 November – Caspia
We spend the next two days fueling up and making a plan to contact Admiral Francisco's antipiracy group, but the problem is that they contacted us where we already were, and we don't actually know where to find them. It takes 24 hours to go back through our logs to ID the face from Lucid's memory. She jacks into the ship for this.
28 November – Caspia
After sending a message to our contact, we hide the ships and monitor their communications. It becomes clear that this is a free port, not a base of operations for the Space Kings. We decide to dock at the port. Beñat, Urdush, Migo, and Castor go onboard. Peter thinks this might be a shopping opportunity.
