Chang-Er System
The Chang-Er is a small, relatively minor, but astrographically important system in the Pariah Sector. It is home to an agricultural world, home to Hengsha Corn, and is fairly well known as a major exporter of Supermaize. However, the largest reason for its importance is location. Having been placed at the nexus point of three jumpgate lanes running into both the Democratic Republic of Yuanjing, and the State of Pariah. Its position, and status as the only freeport between the two frequently warring states has meant that the Chang-Er system is often much more important than its relatively modest status would imply.

UWP-S - 86 “Xi Chang”
Xi Chang is a yellow main sequence star. It is the only star in the Chang-Er system but is fairly similar to Sol. Xi-Chang is somewhat unstable however, with more frequent stellar flares than usual, something which has made authorities less willing to adopt advanced electronics.

The primary world of the Chang-Er system, and the only one with a significant permanent population, Chang-Er is a relatively prosperous garden world noteworthy for two things. One, it is one of the most prosperous agricultural worlds in the Pariah Sector, and a major exporter of Supermaize. The second is that it is the only free port in the jump gate lanes between the Stelsoc powers of the Hawker Nebula and the State of Pariah, and is a vital line of communication as a result. For the last fifty years, a state of active civil war has been ongoing between the Stelsoc Chang People’s Liberation Front (CPLF) and the Solist government.

Chang-Er’s moon, and the only permanently inhabited part of the system other than Chang-Er itself. Chang-Er Chao is host to a small base dedicated to the system’s space defense forces. Primarily it is a monitoring station to watch traffic along the nexus point of the jumpgates. It is frequently resupplied and re-manned from the surface by the local government.

Chang-Shi is a small, relatively hydrogen-poor gas giant at the edge of the system. It is occasionally used by those seeking to refuel away from the system’s main startport, and the watchful eye of the sensor post, but is otherwise not worthy of note.
