Journal Entry 1: The Necromancer

by Tyrion

I found this journal in the lost and found of the midway tavern. I figured I should have a written record of the encounters I have had since joining this party. I will start with the story of the necromancer. We walked into a farm hoping to find survivors of the wolven attacks in the area. But when we arrived , we found it already been raided by the baron's men. Me and Sulvarax went inside the farmhouse to find the owners and found half a body on a bed. I have seen war and famine but this... It was terrible. The old woman as sulvarax approached reached out and bite him! Before i could even move to help, it was blasted by a bolt of electricity. Now I have heard of zombies and how they could exist, but I never believed it until suvarax turned jerry into one right before my eyes. Now, I knew that if there were one there would be others. I searched ahead and found the husband dead on the dining room table. I knew he was a zombie as well but my attention was drawn to the poarch where a man was cut open by one of the baron's knights. But I noticed something was off about the knight immediately. He didn't use any form in his swing and his armor was worn down and rusted. I rushed out to defend the man and saw to more knights open the doors to a barn. And from out the doors came the undead. There must have been at least 20 of them, not counting the knights scattered around the field. Once we all defeated the knight it was surprisingly easy to deal with the horde. uzu summoned a tidal wave and Sulvarax turned them and destroyed almost all of them in less than 20 seconds. But of course, it can never be so easy. More of the undead came pouring out of the well. The most interesting part was when a elven ranger came. she came running out from behind the barn asking for assistance. Shortly after, two wolven appeared. One pursued the elf while the other charged me. We killed them as well as but the dead back in the ground. While fighting the undead, sulvarax accidently turned zombie jerry. Which I think is in the best interest of the party. We couldn't have a undead wandering around with us. Back to the fight, the wolven were the most dangerous thing there. They were strong, fast, and sturdy. They proved to be a challenge to us but me and chad(my horse) could keep him under ropes while the others fought the skeletons emerging from the well. Then came the necromancer, the man who nearly took both me and my parties lives. During our fight on the surface, he would appear as a mirage and check on the fight to see if we dead or not. So when we finally killed everything on the surface, sulvarax and jokull went down the well to find him. What we didn't expect was the cloud of death the appeared once they went in. I follow in shortly after to see if they were ok and if I could pull them out. That is when I felt the worst pain in my life. It felt like my organs were being stabbed with thousands of red hot blades. I immediately with my last remaining strength pulled myself and warned uzu not to go inside. But, he did exactly what I would have done in his shoes. He jumped in anyway. After I got myself back up to my feet, I saw that the cloud was gone. I jumped back down into the fray and saw sulvarax on the ground again. I channeled the power I was given and healed him as much as I could. Then we got to work on clearing the way to the Necromancer. I deflected a few hits for uzu and sulvarax and then they unleashed hell. Sulv turned the dead jokull and a few more of the skeletons while uzu shattered the backline and the necromancer. The elf then shot and killed 2 more and gave me a clear path to him. Once I got close, I did not hold back. I cut and cleave and held him there as I did it. He tried to steal my life force but i just threw his hand out of the way. A skeleton went around me and cut up my back but the elf dealt with him. Once that distraction was gone, I killed him by cut off both of his legs in one swing. That is enough for today. If I write anymore i'm going to miss the perfect time before drunks become to drunk to remember my tales.
