Journal Entry #5: For Eos's Eyes Only
I’ve been putting this off for a while now. There’s a lingering and foreboding sense of finality that has kept me from writing for quite some time, but it’s going to have to be written at some point. I’ll try not to ramble.
If you’re reading this, then I’m gone. And chances are I’m not coming back. So, I’m writing all the things that I haven’t had the chance to say yet; pouring my mess of a heart onto these pages and hoping it’ll be your eyes reading them.
You were the first person I stumbled upon the day that I fell from above and tumbled into the Feywild. I was an aberration; something the likes of which you had never seen before. But instead of running in fear, you helped me readjust to this new world, and thinking of you, I feel like the luckiest man in the world. And the days that I saw you perform were the days that I truly saw you happy with yourself. That’s really all I want in the end.
But any time your smile, your laugh, your music, made my heart skip a beat, I pushed it deep down. After all, a dirty, unkempt and unshaven human hiding under his trenchcoat like me could never be worthy of someone as talented and as kind as you. And in the Shadowfell, I could only wish that I could get back to you, in some crazy unfathomable way. But my understanding of my abilities is limited and unreliable, as I can be sometimes.
As we have travelled with this new company, we have gone through a lot together. We have faced dragons, hags and shadows alike, and I have learned much in these weeks. But now that I have been taken, I must write what I truly feel before it is swept away by time or misfortune. And the undeniable truth is that even if your soul belongs to the Sisters, my heart belongs to you.
I love you, Eos. And it took the kiss you bestowed on me in the bar to make me realise this. I haven’t the faintest clue whether these feelings are mutual, but that does not change the fact that they had grown too strong to push into the furthest corners of my mind like I had so many times before. I only wish I had the strength to tell you. How your beaming smile and the kindness in your eyes brought a warmth that seemed to melt any and all of my cares away. And how much it pained me to go when the shadows claimed me.
Now, as the chapter closes on my life, I have to usher you to the next. The people of Min need someone to heal the broken and lead them out of the darkness. I truly believe you to be the light that will break through it. And trust that I will still be with you, every step of the way.
With love,
Joseph Hewmont

01:38 am - 23.12.2020Journal Entry #4: Gone
It’s cold here… There’s very little company. I wouldn’t expect there to be. But still, it’s lonely. You don’t make friends here. She doesn’t visit often; the hag. More pressing matters, I think she said. How long ago, I can’t remember. ...
11:08 am - 04.03.2020Journal Entry #3: An Uneasy Alliance
This day has been dull so far. The ugliness of the Feywild is slowly revealing itself, and this damned place is finally getting to my head. Honestly, I am tempted to forsake my pledge and down another Fairy Fireball, just to feel the splendour that we fel...
06:58 am - 17.01.2020Journal Entry #2: The Feywild
Dovarax’s death has forced me to reflect on my actions in a new light. With everything we are working towards, I might end up in the ground, and there is a strong chance my legacy will die with me. With that being said, this journal will soon hold all o...
02:10 pm - 11.01.2020Journal Entry #1: My Companions
Every day, I question the strange happenings that befall me. Every day in this strange new world I am slowly becoming a part of. And of course, the company certainly adds to my disbelief. First of all, there's Beemic. A tough and easily-angered half...
04:09 am - 20.12.2019Avenging Dovarax
I hope, if Dovarax' spirit still watches over us, he knows that it was me who fell the man responsible for his death. Yet this emptiness still resides within me. Where do I go now, without my old friend beside me?
08:05 am - 18.12.2019Rest in peace, Myastan Dovarax. In life, you were valiant, headstrong, and a strong leader. When we face the dragonkin empire you so bravely fought against before, it will be you who I fight for. You will be missed, old friend.
08:02 am - 18.12.2019The Third of the Ultimate Fires
It seems that I have an innate ability to make campfires to a brilliant and unfathomable extent. I am both impressed and disturbed by my strange talent. I mean, I have had almost no experience in the field in my earlier years. Nevertheless, it eases my mind to know I'm good for something, at least.
03:33 am - 30.11.2019It's difficult deciding what words and phrases to teach @09f19a8a-2005-473d-87e9-86be5a3afe56 in the Elvish tongue. He is a warrior, so maybe I should think of the battlefield...
01:28 am - 10.11.2019I may not belong here, but I'll do my best to help you all. Anything for a friend.

Contacts & Relations
Since arriving in the Vale, Joseph has been travelling with an odd band of individuals. They include a half-orcish warrior, a druid with great potential, a kobold revolutionary, and his closest companion Eos, who has more beauty and bravery than she'll ever know.
Other companions haven't lasted the journey. They include a fallen dragon knight, a missing river spirit, and a traitorous weasel.
Honorary & Occupational Titles
Joseph has no real titles. Unless you count "elf with weird ears."
Wealth & Financial state
Now that he has left his own civilisation, Joseph is in a world where he has no need for currency. While the Fey and Dragonkin both have their own currency, Joseph has never come across more than 10 gold pieces.
Family Ties
Joseph lost his nerdy father, Arthur Hewmont, at the age of seven. He lived with his mother Andrea for his whole childhood. He also has an older brother Gabriel who followed the pursuit of science. However, Joseph assumes that all of them are long gone now.
Religious Views
Joseph is aware of the existence of Min, god of the Vale, but he has never seen real proof of Min's existence.
Social Aptitude
Joseph isn't the greatest with people, but can understand them and their behaviours through his educational studies. He is working on becoming more assertive through his voyages with the party.
Mannerisms
Joseph's mannerisms are most subtle in his Shadowfell state, while he is more frantic in his Feywild state. In his true state, his body language is very indicative of his reserved manner.
Hobbies & Pets
Joseph has begun to journal frequently after Dovarax's death, as he doesn't want his own legacy to be lost to the sands of time.
Speech
Joseph has a soft voice when in his neutral state. However, his speech becomes monotone in the Shadowfell state, or loud and rage-filled in the Feywild state.
