Caddos Damolnath is the Prince of the Northern Triton lands of Lorev, remnants of the Giant Kingdom, and a student in the Class of 549. He is also a member of Fepar Tilrak's Army of the Revolution.
Early Life
Caddos Damolnath was born to King Zalnas and Queen Forthyn Damolnath as their fourth son, meaning that he was fourth in line for the throne. His brothers Vuldus and Deres and his sister Bhalyn were all considered strong contenders for the throne, so when Caddos was born, there was no discussion of him ever even considering rising to be King of Lorev.
He grew up alongside his retainer Nonvos Abemath, a royal attendant who was to serve by his side. Nonvos was a dutiful attendant, and he would often scold Caddos for slacking off. It is thanks to Nonvos that Caddos actually does his homework and has gotten good grades.
The Tragedy of Lorev
But the two would be separated on the day Caddos Damolnath's fate changed forever. In the year 530, an Elven agent of the World Court named Steve arrived while the royal family was meeting with some nobility. All of the royal family was in the throne room that day, and Steve saw Caddos being left out of much of the ceremony and discussion. Nonvos was away with some of the other attendants on a trip for the King, and Caddos was left alone in an unimportant role in the court as Fourth Son. So Steve approached Caddos and asked him if he wanted a book to read. He talked about how he understood how boring ceremonies can be, and that books can always spice things up.
Caddos took the book, and didn't look until Steve had vanished from around him. Instead, he had disguised himself as a Triton attendant of the King and went up to him. And as he did, Caddos watched as Steve took out a dagger and cut the throat of King Zalnas Damolnath. He then watched as Steve continued the murder spree, as other agents of the World Court joined him. All of Caddos's friends and family were dying.
But the worst part about it was not the death. It was terrible, but something much worse began to happen. As Caddos watched them die, their bodies didn't just fall to the ground. After they did, they still stood above them. Green and translucent, but there. Screaming. After some of them died, they noticed Caddos could still see these remnants. Their souls. For Caddos had been given the Book of Souls, an Item Magic item that grants .
The souls of these people Caddos knew for so long approached him, screaming for them to help them, to save them. But Caddos knew he couldn't do that. There was nothing he could do but watch their souls. Adding onto that the anxiety of all these people, who had called him useless and a waste of space, saying only the other three children were of worth, and it was enough to give him constant breakdowns whenever it comes to responsibility.
The first instance of this was when the souls all stopped begging for help, and instead began to berate him once more. His body began to shake uncontrollably, he felt dizzy, and his voice wouldn't come out. All it would do was get out the first letter before being unable to say more. But he was able to do one thing. Open the Book of Souls. In doing so, all of the souls of the people he knew were sucked into the Book of Souls.
