Manual Save for World Meta

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

At this time, the World Meta only auto-saves, so having auto-save disabled prevents you from making updates to your Meta unless you go and enable auto-save again. Anyone who's not aware of this fact could end up making a ton of updates to their Meta and not realize there's no way to save it. Even if you are aware, it's several extra steps to go into your account features and re-enabled the feature just to make some updates to your Meta.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

Having a manual Save button in the World Meta would allow anyone with auto-save disabled to make changes without having to toggle that setting. It will make updating the Meta easier and more appealing.

What are other uses for this feature request?

It would also help give anyone with auto-save enabled peace of mind of knowing for sure that their work is saved.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! We introduced the option to disable auto-save shortly after the auto-save itself was introduced, as it had some issues and instability. These issues are mostly resolved now, and the new interface for version 1 will not have manual saving buttons. That said, we'll temporarily add back the save button to the meta for consistency with the rest of World Anvil until the new interface rolls out.

It used to have a save button. (Metas were added before the auto save, I believe). Would be great to get it back. I use the auto save but like to manually click the save button on my articles sometimes anyway.

Took me ages to realise this was the issue, I would LOVE to see a manual save button return. Don't see why it got removed in the first place since there's a save button for everything else xD
