I feel like this direction of addressing the problem would make it easier to lose information, not harder. Perhaps access to the last few saves to revert to, instead - or a ctrl/command-z that works even after the save. Cause oof, I've lost some good stuff. e_e
No more accidental overwriting or deleting stuff. Or the page-shake on "save".
Every time autosave triggers in my mobile browser the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the article. It triggers on literally every letter- I end up typing backwards! Some days my pain is too bad to let me sit up and work at an actual computer, and as it is those days are sadly ones I just can't work on my articles. Not unless I want to type it elsewhere and paste, which is silly to have to do.
I've also lost content this way so am hoping this can be done. :)
I can't live without autosave myself, but I can see the appeal of having a toggle.
This is actually an accessibility issue for me. I wear splints and have sometimes twitchy/unstable hands and I've had problems with autosave, too.
I just lost half my chalange article! :'( It's either this or worldanvil has to fix the fact the command+Z works only half of the time in the editor.
Autosave definitely needs a toggle. I don't know the back-end of WA so I don't know how this would work ultimately, but I think it'd be a great option to figure out how to have.
I'm voting more in the negative because we had a previous request for this - [URL:https://www.worldanvil.com/community/voting/suggestion/93395ec0-527b-4274-8373-61809121bb31/view]https://www.worldanvil.com/community/voting/suggestion/93395ec0-527b-4274-8373-61809121bb31/view The Plato Editor (the one that makes things kind of look like they would in a word document) is known to not retain a backspace deletion in it's memory of what can be undone with ctrl+z or similar commands.
My wife just lost a lot of progress and was devastated.
