Automatically remove finished articles from To-Do list

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently articles and placeholders are automatically added to the To-Do List, which depending on your way of creating articles can get very large very quickly.   I tend to create lots of of placeholders within my articles, while writing them, for things I know might get their own articles later down the line. Then at a later point I either go back to the article and flesh out the placeholders, or they get created organically as I flesh out my world further.   When I then mark them as "Done" they get also marked as "Finished" within the To-Do List, but the list doesn't get smaller from this. I now have to go into my full To-Do List, which is kinda unwieldy and slow at this point, to then remove the articles manually.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

By adding a world setting like "Automatically remove finished articles from To-Do List", I wouldn't have to worry about those finished articles and my To-Do List would always just show the things I actually have left to do.   At the same time, people who like to see what they have finished inside this list, the setting would still allow them to do so as well.

The Team's Response

)This suggestion did not reach any of the required thresholds.)   Heya beans!   So, I will begin by saying that I am painfully aware that the TODO list needs a good amount of love, so much I was planning at some point to make it into a collaborative project management tool (overkill I know)   The main issue with automatically removing things is .... the WHEN? All of us have a different definition on when the article is "DONE". I would say that if the article is Published and Done then it is "DONE" others will say only the WIP/Done should determine that and I am also happy with that.   The other thing is that some people LOVE going there and seeing the green checkboxes because it's a visual representation of the things they have achieved during a period of time. So, yes it should definitely be a setting.   For the rest, I do understand the issue with bloat, 100%.   In conclusion, I will be accepting this with low priority due to low-support but I will see what I can do to even parameterise this and find ways to satisfy as many people as possible.   As a note, I have ironed things out already with PrincessESH but, a kind reminder, this is my life's work you are talking about when you say you "HATE" something or that it is "SHIT". I do not offend easily but it does hurt to hear such harsh words for your work, regardless if it is a piece of prose, an image or code and interface. Please try to at least keep your language a bit tempered. I am sorry if I am failing you sometimes, but I am really trying.
