A Cabinet of Rubber Ducks (and an update)

Things have been changing a ton in my person sphere these past couple weeks. I have changed work assignments and that always means that the new one will munch on my energy levels like cookie monster munches on cookies. So, it's been a bit quiet in the writing department for me, trying to navigate and balance life again.
Even though it's a bit quiet, there's a lot going on as I'm researching how operating systems work so I can teach you! Seeing as operating systems are just as big and complex as building a skyscraper, I have underestimated how much time it takes, of course.
So, while I continue to work on that, here is a small article for you to enjoy; arguably one of the fundamental debugging principles in programming which you can use in every-day life, too! Have a look and let tell me in the comments: what's your rubber duck?

Good Bye 2023, Hello 2024!

Time has flown like mad in 2023, but what a year it has been. I had my piano concert early this year and I'm still shaking just thinking of that (good shakes, mind you! ^^). SummerCamp was a great success too, with some new content for Hesli to expand upon.
But I think it doesn't come as a surprise that I'm most proud of my new project: Computer Adventures. I'm very grateful to everyone for giving Bit such a warm welcome, thank you! <3
This WorldEmber, I've primarily focused on further putting out the basis for Computer Adventures, and successfully at that I'd like to think. Byte and Bug can welcome new people to different aspects of the world, and Bit has thoroughly enjoyed going through the History of Processors.
  So, what's for next year?
I still have my Dimi mission to complete; expand on three pieces of computer hardware. So that will definitely come next year! Hardware already has its foundation finished, so naturally it's time to give software the same love by starting with the Operating System. Aside from that, I have a few projects I want to start or pick up again, so that's certainly something you can expect to read about!
Thank y'all for the amazing ride this 2023, and let's have an awesome 2024! \o/

Merry WorldEmber Christmas!

WorldEmber has been a blast so far. I've seen so many awesome articles that I have yet to read, y'all have been keeping busy! There will be plenty to read for me next month. ^^
As for me, I've spent the majority of my WorldEmber slowly chipping away at one massive article about Processor History. It was so much fun, but it also taught me a few things. Big articles require big time to write, there's no going around it. In my case, I didn't want to overflow the readers with too much information, so I was also looking at ways to "hide" content for the main body of the article but still keep it accessible to those who wanted that extra info. I hope I did a decent job with that.
Furthermore, to keep myself engaged with the article and keep writing, I just need to take it step by step, Bit by Bit, Byte by Byte. In the end, I have a huge article to be proud of, and proud I am!
So, if you have some time to spare, or you want to learn more about Processor History, have a gloss over, or a full read, and let me know what you think!

It's the Final Countdown

Just one week until WorldEmber!!!
I am so excited, I'm bursting at my seems! It is the silence before the storm and I'm trying to use this "calm" to recharge my writing batteries as much as I can. Doing a little research here, doing some lightweight and fun writing there, and cruising towards December 1st to start the marathon.
But that's not the only thing... I requested a Dimi mission for Computer Adventures!! Aaaaaahhh I'm so excited to see what mission I will get and how I can excite Dimi about this world even more. ^^
Of course, I have a plan too! Want to know what I'll be doing this #WorldEmber? Check out my finished homework!

WorldEmber Is Coming!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
The time has come to prepare for #WorldEmber2023! Am I excited? Oh hell yes! I have so many things in store for this year, I'm already bursting at my seams to get to writing. Fortunately for me, I don't have to wait until December starts, because the things I'll be writing about this year require a fair bit of research to make sure I won't spew any bullshit. x3
I can already hear you ask: what kind of world building needs research? The answer to that, you can find in my homework article! ^^ Okay, okay, I'll give you a hint... It has something to do with the Processor!
So yes, I will bring my maximum nerd game to WorldEmber as well to continue working on Computer Adventures! If you want to learn more about these amazing black boxes that lets us all do the things such as writing on WorldAnvil, be sure to check it out!
For now, I'll focus on the homework and preparing a thing or two before all the fun begins, such as the CSS things that continue to laugh in my face. ^^

What's This? ^^

Computer Adventures has a Discord Server! \o/ Feel free to join the server for more updates on Computer Adventures, an extra worldbuilding space for bouncing off ideas, writing sprints especially now with NaNoWriMo going on and next month WorldEmber!
Furthermore, I've also created a Ko-Fi Page! Ultimately, I hope to sustain this project a little bit, especially with the books on computers I plan on buying.. ^,^"

A New Member Has Arrived: The Processor!

Let me say this first: I have gravely underestimated this "little" project called Computer Adventures. The funny part (to me at least) is that the learning and technical aspect isn't the cause as one might think; it is writing about (advanced) technical concepts in such a way that everyone can understand that has floored my brain. Things that seem super logical to me, are not so logical to others. But I've been having a grand time writing, even if it takes up extra energy, because it is much more rewarding to be honest.
That said, I want to introduce you to the newest member of the computer family: The Processor! This little guy stands at the heart of every computer and makes everything remotely digital possible today. This is by far the nerdiest of nerding I've ever gotten. I've been diving into CPU architecture to get the best understanding I could to teach you about them and how they work. There's also a fun fact or two in there that even I didn't know!
So, what's next for Computer Adventures? I'm contemplating what direction to take. On one hand I can continue with other important computer components such as RAM, the Motherboard, and the GPU. On the other hand, it would be fun to spend a whole article gushing about old hardware (ZX Spectrum, C64, Apple II). Or, I could take you on a journey through various operating systems; most of us use Windows, but did you know where it started?
What would you like to read next? Let me know! In the meantime, enjoy the Processor. ^^

They stand at the heart of every electronic device. Without one, your phone, computer, and laptop wouldn't function. But what does it do, and how does it work?
