Luke Arbutus – in love with Sephy for a long time, turns out his father is manipulating him. Sephy is not sure if she returns his affections or not, until she turns 16 and decides that no, she doesn’t think of him that way
Robin Gregal – they are in love with each other but neither says anything until after the war. He must prove his bloodline before marrying her.
Kale Veles – the younger son of King Jackson of Tantaria. He wants to be a king. This is a one-sided obsession
Zaine Fidor – feels he deserves to be king, that his family has served a long time and they deserve the honour. This is one-sided and ambition driven
L’Darin – the son of the Massarian ambassador. He is being manipulated by his father who hopes to see and elf on the Zoedavian throne

Abbot Hove – leader of the Deork Priests. He attempted to use her as a political bargaining chip when she was nine.
L’Damon and L’Darin – while L’Darin was just a pawn in his father’s scheme, they both leave Zoedar in disgrace. L’Damon is the Massarian ambassador. He plots to take over Zoedar by marrying his son to Sepherym
Ohanzee Fidor – He kills her father, kidnaps her mother, and takes the throne
Darius Fidor – Ohanzee’s son. He gains their trust and betrays them to his father.
Jonathan Arbutus – attempts to control Sephy and her powers, to rule through her and through Luke who he manipulates into believing he loves Sephy.
Zaine Fidor – betrays her in the war, kills her best friend
Dark Elves – their navy attacks Zoedar several times, they are allies of Ohanzee
Deork Priests – they take over Gagen during the war
Nobles of North Port – Open allies of Ohanzee during the war, this includes Zaine’s older brother and several of his extended family members
Friends and Allies
Tatynym Aris – as teens they are barely friends, but after escaping Ohanzee she joins Sephy and the war effort. She helps Edana with the war orphans
Edana Edain Nianci – a widow with an infant daughter, war ally
Skyler Zaber – sides with Sephy even though his father, a holding lord, doesn’t
Queenie Arbutus – long-time friend and surrogate mother, she helps Sephy deal with Jonathan, among other things
Andrake Jassal – “rescues” her from Gagen, makes her smile, her confident and best friend
Avia Gregal – treats Sephy like a person instead of a princess, there is some “romantic rivalry” between them when Sephy believes she married Robin.
John Undulith – Lord of Fort Stonewave, war ally
King Cabral – King of Massaria, sends support to Gagen and bolsters Sephy’s navy
Jonathan Arbutus – her father’s advisor, he appoints himself her advisor, he’s supposed to be her strongest ally but she finds herself at odds with him a lot
Meryum Hukaru – her twin sister. They are separated during the war.
Personality and Motives
Sephy started out as an active, friendly child until the full depth of her telepathic abilities was discovered. Since being able to sense that most people fear her she became quiet and withdrawn. She loves books and rainy days. She often feels trapped by all the rules and restrictions in her life and the duties that face her. She wishes for a simpler life.
Underground with Robin and Avia, and time spent with Andrake, are the only times she feels completely comfortable and accepted. She used to feel that way with her sister as well but as they approach their mid-teens she feels they are drifting apart.
Sephy is afraid she will never find a suitor who respects her intelligence and independence and doesn’t fear her.
Sephy is polite and tactful except with her closest friends, those she feels comfortable teasing. She is a trained diplomat and politician. Like her father, she cares about the well-being of the commoners because she understands how important they are to the economy, and because she is a caring person. She is sickened by the behaviour of the Black Guard during Ohanzee’s short reign.
