Queen Catra

Backstory Catra is the elder of two girls, raised at Fort Vivaltor in Gagen. When she is eighteen and her sister seventeen, the two girls travel to the Flying Kingdom for a year of study. There, Catra becomes fast friends with Queenie Naiad. During that year she fell in love with Tritaton. He travelled to Gagen on the pretense of a diplomatic errand, and to stand as escort for her and her sister on a visit home, to ask for her hand in marriage. When she returned she discovered a letter from Ohanzee Fidor, professing his love for her. They laughed it off at the time and she promised never to tell Tritaton. Three months after becoming queen she was nearly kidnapped by Ohanzee. Her only injury was a small cut on her neck. Ohanzee escaped before his execution. Two and a half years later she gave birth to twin girls, an occurrence so rare for the royal bloodline that some doubted her fidelity. She slipped into a coma, waking on her daughters’ third birthday. Personality Catra is kind but strict and ‘old fashioned’. She is a proper lady. She likes cleanliness and order. She loves her family, especially her husband, but doesn’t always understand her daughters. She blames herself, and the coma, for Mery and Sephy’s ‘oddities’, believing that if she had been there the first three years they would be more like her.
