Backstory
Tritaton was a kind, adventurous young man. His two closest friends were Jonathan Arbutus, the son of his father’s advisor, and Ohanzee Fidor, a visiting nobel-son from North Port Holding. It is said he favoured Jonathan’s sister over the other noble-daughters at court but it may have been polite interaction with his best friend’s kid sister.
When he was nineteen, three new young women arrived at court: Catrana and Amelia Vivaltor of Gagen, the noble-daughters of the Holding Lord, and Gwendolyn Naiad, a younger daughter of a younger son of a noble family to the south. Jonathan fell in love with Gwendolyn, Ohanzee and Tritaton fell in love with Catra. Catra fell in love with Tritaton and the two were married. When King Darius died, Tritaton named Ohanzee his advisor.
Within the first three months of Tritaton’s official reign Ohanzee attempted to kidnap Catra. He was sentenced to death but escaped and disappeared. Jonathan became Tritaton’s advisor.
Two and a half year’s later, the princesses were born and Catra slipped into a coma. Tritaton spent the next three years grieving while his daughters grew up with Jonathan and Gwendolyn’s sons. On the princesses’ third birthday, Catra awoke.
Personality
Tritaton is kind and gentle. He genuinely cares about the commoners, loves his family, believes in honour, loyalty, and diplomacy. He has a good sense of humour and a quiet temper. When he roars you’re safe, when he’s angry, he’s scary but quiet. He believes everyone deserves the chance to prove themselves, that the crimes of the father do not reflect on the sons.
