The Dragon Stones

What appear to be gemstones are in fact powerful, legendary artifacts once wielded by the Wyrm Lords in their fight against the forces of darkness. They were thought to be a myth, or at least lost to time, until that fateful day when four young would-be heroes passed the Earth Dragon Trial and were gifted the stones to aid them on a mysterious quest.
The stones, the Dragon Stones of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Aether, possess a portion of a Great Dragon's essence, bestowed with sentience and the ability to change shape, in addition to granting power and knowledge to those worthy to carry them. From stories of the past, these stones have come to be known as Earthheart, Blasnir's Fury, The Mistral Staff, and The Eye of Lazulia. There is also yet another stone, the Aether Stone (Starpiercer), though until recently knowledge of that artifact had been lost to time.
