The Great Hall

(Ruined)

Built as a tribute to the goddess of adventure, this massive hall in the far north town of Godsreach was the seat for town leadership. Now it is a ruin likely to never be restored.

Design

The original building was dug into the mountain face, and had two large columns, nearly ten feet wide, at its front supporting a large A-frame overhang. The hall itself was only one room, but its ceiling was over 30 feet high, and the room was large enough to fit the then 2000 citizens of Godsreach comfortably. In the center of the floor was a mosaic of Selune made from marble and granite brought in from the south. A large oval stone table was built at the end of the chamber, where the town's council would hold meetings.

History

Built in 1114, this grand structure took three years to complete, as the cold winters of Godsreach only allowed work in the summer. Its thick stone walls could have lasted a millennia, if not for theĀ Battle of the Great Hall, which collapsed the front part of the structure, sealing it closed.
