Asrion

The town of Asrion is located south of the Kuskyn River river in the northern portion of the Yesnala plains. It is known as the furthest north portion of civilization in the Thanyn/Narzad region. Additionally, during the late summer, it is used as a gathering place for the clans that raise the horned herd beasts to buy, sell and show their animals.

Defences

The town is surrounded by a palisade. Two raised platforms exist within the palisade on either side of the gate and are set at a height of about two feet (60 cm) below the height of the palisade. There are a few similar platforms at other places along the perimeter. The platforms are used as lookout posts. There is a second palisade built around the nearby empty land. It is filled with people and herd beasts during the annual stock event.

Industry & Trade

Asrion is the most northerly trading point for the Thanyn region. They host an annual livestock festival in the late summer where horned herd beasts are shown and traded. They also transport meat, wool, and live animals down the Kuskyn river to the town of Dirvella or continue on down the Yesgoth river to Syorkich or the city of Shazun. They also sell fresh fish from the Kuskyn river to the surrounding region. There is also limited travel and trade between Asrion and the Vellin city of Dunasar.

Infrastructure

The center of the town contains a tower with a large platform 20 feet (6m) off the ground. This is used as both an observation deck and a flight launchpad for the gliding Land Yanryl.
