Izmytix

Izmytix is a young blue dragon of notorious greed and ferocity who preys upon Zahar's Western Badlands. He is sometimes known by wary travelers as "the Glassmaker" for the way his lightning breath solidifies the sand it strikes. Izmytix was rarely encountered during his first century of life, except by caravans foolhardy enough to stray from the established paths. During the sultanate of Kumar XIV and his forebearers, the vigilant Janissaries of Zahar usually deterred him from striking, and he mainly lived as a scavenger. After the Zahari Civil War, the paladins were in disarray, and Rashad recalled his remaining loyalists back to the capital. This left the frontier communities and caravans dangerously exposed. In recent years, Izmytix has undertaken ever more brazen ambushes against those who would dare traverse "his" territory. Though he will sometimes devour a camel--or its rider!--for food, Izmytix is primarily interested in treasure...especially precious artworks of dragons like himself or finery in his favorite shade of blue. Merchants like Nasdaq Dowjonis now consider the dragon's extortion as simply the cost of doing business, and even bring along bonus merchandise as an offering in anticipation.

Izmytix maintained his swolen hoard in the wreckage of the derelict genie airship The Evening Breeze, wedged in the canyons of Massacre Gulch, and concealed his lair from prying eyes using his innate powers of illusion. Teaming up with some orc graverobbers, the party infiltrated the airship and managed to restore its power of flight, sailing it out of the slot canyon and narrowly escaping the dragon's enraged pursuit.

Barely wounded, yet robbed of his most cherished possessions, Izmytix swore a vow of eternal emnity against the party as they sped away.
