Goli Ghorbani

"The Mad Astronomer" Goli Ghorbani was the head of the Zahari Royal Observatory, a warlock of Horak, and a seer for his cult .
Xandu recalled the young Goli as a mousy, withdrawn scientist, ignoring much of the outisde world as she fixated on her telescopes. She must have seen something up there, skittering in the cold expanses between the stars, for the corruption of Horak gradually infested her mind, twisting her into a fanatical visionary, an oracle for the scarab god's depraved followers. Horak's influence empowered her with eldrich magic--she could conjure pockets of frigid space or climb up walls like an insect.
After the academic purges, in which Rashad had the former Chief Astronomer flung from the roof of the observatory to his death, Goli was promoted in his place. She led the research into the whereabouts of Nephotep's Codex and was delighted when the party brought the elusive tome right to her...only to despair as Xandu disintegrated it before her eyes.
Losing a rooftop duel with Chandra, Goli plummeted from the pinnacle of the observatory to a splattery death...much like her predecessor. The position of Chief Astronomer is, at present, vacant.
