Words of Power

In the beginning was the Word.

Well, almost. You see, the Word did not exist back then. Its parts existed. There were shapes, but it wasn't real shapes, for they could not be touched, nor was there anything that could have touched them.
There were sounds, though they couldn't be heard, nor was there anything that could have heard them.
And there were colors, but they couldn't be seen, and there was nothing to see them.
But then, in this soup of things that have existed since the beginning of time, things found each other. A shape found a sound, and then a color joined them. But still, the Word wasn't real yet.
It wasn't even aware it existed. It just was, and time passed, unfazed by all that is. Then the Word noticed something. And with this moment, when the Word realized it existed, reality came to pass, for such is the power of Words: they shape our reality.
The world fell into existence, and the shockwave caused many other shapes, sounds and colors to find each other. Flavors, textures... so many parts. This was the Most Powerful of Words, and it caused a chain reaction of existence when more Words realized they existed.

I can see your confusion. It is so obvious, I can even hear it, and maybe smell it. How can words feel and know?
The truth is, I don't know. None of our words make sense for this, because our words are not Words of Power. All that I've told you is my futile attempt to help you understand. There are no words to describe what was before the Most Powerful Word, because nothing was real then. Or maybe nothing existed, if you want to put it that way.
And yet. Its part were there, somehow. How, you ask. And all I can say is I do not know. Our words have no shape, no color. Sound is all there is to them. That's how you know they are not Words of Power.
Our minds are small. We all just fell into existence as a consequence from the Most Powerful Word falling into existence. We are Its creation. And such is the nature of created things: they cannot encompass their creator.
And that's why we do not have words that help understand Words of Power. Because our minds can't understand the reality that has created us. We can only understand the reality we create, and it will always be inferior to the reality we exist in.
Its is the nature of existence that creation can never understand itself.

This page of parchment is a fragment of an unknown tome. No one knows who wrote this, or who is addressed. The parchment is old, but of high quality and definitely not made of scraps. There is no sign of previous works having been scraped off to repurpose this.
The writing stretches in tiny letters over both sides of the parchment, showing a high level of penmanship that is achieved by few writers today. The ink is of a dark, almost black color, but should moonlight find its way onto the parchment, a mesmerizing play of blues will start dancing in the lines of the letters.
But the most captivating part of this page is the illuminated frame. A dark background features a myriad of shapes in colors ranging from light blues to pink, and the few people who have seen this page are not sure if the frame looked the same the first time they glimpsed it - was this ornament always in that place, in that color?
It is a treasured mystery of the Inner Circle of the Veil of Secrets, and the tales of how it was acquired are even more colorful than the theories regarding its origin - and meaning: Some believe this means there are powerful entities out there, wielding a never-before-seen power, and whether to seek it or not is a hotly debated topic. Some argue that the text gives the clear answer to not seek them, since human minds would not be able to comprehend these beings and their power, while others believe that it is a deliberate attempt to obfuscate the road to true power. Surely whoever wrote this had to understand these things, and in coding the knowledge like this, tried to deter the uninitiated from seeking it.
Again others believe it to be an elaborate hoax being played on the mystery seekers of the Veil, but this theory struggles to explain the enigmatic qualities of the ink.
