With the establishment of the Kingdom of Wesdaland under the Mithridatid Dynasty the Seris nobles that form part of the mercenary band of Mithradates I carved out fiefdoms for themselves. Some of this new feudal lords were the sons of the King who established cadet branches of the Mithridatid Dynasty, this cadet branches were known as the
Houses of Blood (because of their blood ties with the main line of the Mithridatid Dynasty). Some Seris nobles who had being the companions of the first king of the Wesdalandia whose families married into the Royal family were also allowed to be incorporated into this selective group amongst Wesdalandian nobility.
Many of the members of these cadet branches of the Royal family occupied the highest positions in the Kingdom, for example as members of the Royal Council, or as chamberlain or chancelors of the Kingdom, and also as commanders of the royal armies. Their fiefdoms were considerably large and prosperous, and usually other houses of seris origin are also their vassals.
Like the main line of the Mithridatids, the nobles of the Houses of Blood quickly asimilated into Wesdalandian society, especially adopting Wesdalandian names (without forgetting their Seris roots) and dressing codes as well as the chivalrous culture of the region, which was similar to their native Namru culture back in
Seria. The houses of blood as follows:
I like how you gave an overview of the individual houses - medieval noble house vibes were there and I like it. Now I would be interested to see the family trees (what can I say, I'm a huge fan of noble family trees of the great European and German houses) and whether members of the families married each other in order to also engage in politics.
Thank you so much!!. My original idea was to make a medieval style manuscript depicting the family trees ( I might draw it) or creating a family tree using WA, what do you think would look cooler?, I don't know, but my plan is to add one in the near future!. And also answering your question yes, my idea was also to have them marrying each other, and perhaps, who knows having some War of the Roses type of civil war
So in my opinion I would always prefer a self-drawn family tree to the WA family tree. If you insert this as a map, you can even link to other articles etc. It would of course be a lot more work, but believe me, it would be worth it. Unfortunately I am not yet satisfied with the WA family tree function and have therefore used this route. In my opinion, the current function is not really suitable, especially if the family tree has many ancestors. If you haven't already done so, test this function on a small family tree and then decide. The Wars of the Roses certainly offer a lot of material, but unfortunately they have perhaps been a bit overused since GoT. So think about other European courts (Medici, Valois, Bourbons...) and their power games or the Ottoman Empire, where brothers had their own siblings killed in order to gain power. It doesn't always have to be a civil war.
You certainly know the quote from a Habsburg: "Let others wage war, but you, happy Austria, marry."
