Aether Shields (though more accurately, Fields) protect everything in the Field from the effects of aether.
On Capital and larger craft, Aether Shields can be weaponized creating Mage Point, providing one or more mages with the capacity of amplifying their spell energies and turning it into a weapon and defense system.
