Aether Cube

Aether Cubes, when linked to an Aether Drive, allows a ship to traverse Highspace, rendering them capable of covering interstellar distances quickly. Of all of the technology controlled by the Spell Caster's Union, the knowledge of creating and recharging Aether Cubes is the most closely guarded.

Utility

Modifies Aether Shields allowing a craft to enter and traverse Highspace.
Cubes require Aether Juice to provide the channeled arcane power necessary to push it into Jump Space. With notable exceptions (the Royal Navy and Double Cubed vessels), ships may only carry enough Aether Juice to make 2 jumps before refueling.

Highly Controlled and Restricted. Jealously guarded by the SCU, unauthorized possession of Aether Cubes carry significant penalties which start with heavy fines and the confiscation of any vessel(s) involved.
