The future of humanity as envisaged by some is very different to the world of today.
Reader Tone
Middle to dark - compared to the freedoms of the modern West, Xah is oppressive and authoritarian. However, no one goes hungry or homeless, and most diseases and hardships have been solved. For the best and brightest, life is good, for the rest, it is tolerable; illness and disease have been replaced bt a lack of choice in one's place.
Recurring Themes
An eternal conflict between Order and Freedom, and whether its better to be provided for, to reach full potential in something assigned to you, or strive to survive, but have the choice to be whoever you want.
Can humanity be trusted with its own destiny? Time and time again, humans have shown themselves to be destructive, violent and constantly acting contrary to what is best. Is this true? Or does human goodness, and the slow progress of empathy refute this idea?

Character Agency
In a universe with trillions of individuals, character agency is a myth. Change for one person, however, can be as important as changing the world, for that one person anyway.

The constant low-level dissent amongst the Worker Caste, and how the Federation of Xah works to reduce and mitigate this. Social stability is key to the success of the Xahian way of live, and coming up with ways to keep the population content and away from rebellion is a hugely important task for the state.
When the tensions between the major powers of the area erupt into outright conflict? War between them is inevitable; the philosophy of the Federation of Xah does not allow for any rival factions, and once it feels strong enough, war with one or both of its rivals will occur.
The on-going survival and state of existence for those under the yoke of Xahian hegemony, but not part of its caste system. The remnants of cultures, nations and ways of life now considered obsolete and forbidden, with the State just waiting for them to die off.
