The Ammolite Arcane Academies
In 6192 AC a small group of wizards sought greater knowledge at the Tymongaard Erudition Archive. Seeing the vast number of arcane texts within the archive the wizards spent weeks trawling through the tomes but could became frustrated that they could not take the texts with them. As such they asked the Erudite scholars if they could copy out the texts in full to spread the arcane knowledge that was housed within the archive. The scholars agreed and the wizards and scholars alike copied each Arcane text into new tomes that could be removed from the archive and shared with others.
That group of wizards, lead by an Elvish woman named Shaenara Valarei, took the texts and established a smaller library in the North of the realm in what would eventually become Krosstoen. This small library grew as more people sought the knowledge housed there and was eventually reinstated as a school, the first magic school in the world. The scholars there set about establishing more branches, naming the schools The Ammolite Arcane Academies.
The Academies are heralded as the pinnacle of arcane knowledge and teaching in all of Xaedia. They are lead by the finest mages in the realms and teach hundreds of students though only the best and brightest go on to great things. An entrance exam is mandatory for those seeking education there though he libraries are open to the public though heavily guarded and restricted.
There are a total of nine Ammolite Academies, one in each of the realms. The largest and most populated is the Steithandahl Academy and the smallest is the one found in Argenfort of Schalenmere.
