Uthanarrow (ooth-un-a-row)

A hard place to live with hardy people to match, Uthanarrow is a realm that has seen tragedy after tragedy with fires, plagues and conflict- as such its people are hard, though not unkind, they are just used to a more difficult form of life. The weather of the realm has also helped harden the people over the years and as such most towns and cities function separately, knowing that a snowstorm could halt travel. As a result most people are somewhat combat trained, at least knowing how to defend themselves in a bar brawl, this is especially prevalent in the South. A large influence of Dwarven culture effects the South of the realm as well as an unusual amount of crime though not lawless it is arguably one of the more ‘free-thinking’ areas when it comes to following the rules. Petty crimes are not as heavily governed upon but bigger ones are still taboo and very much illegal. The towns and cities are a lot more lawless, though crime is rife this is not necessarily a bad thing as what would be considered taboo and illegal businesses in other realms are booming in Uthanarrow such as sex work, gambling and drinking. Those in the North often consider this to be a result of the proximity of Schalenmere and what they deem an 'inferior' culture bleeding into the Uthanarrow realm.

Demography & Population: Uthanarrow has a very high population of Dwarves, Elves are also very common with Halflings as well as a small population of Goblins and Yvrae. There is also a very small number of Tempus in the North
Religion: There are no strict guidelines regarding religion in Uthanarrow though due to the cultural practices worship of Eurustus, Sorsun and Kari is very common, worship of all other deities is also relatively common
Technology: The marrying of magic and technology is still in its infancy in Uthanarrow, though the capital has a few talented technicians. The smaller settlements of the realm are less familiar with advanced tech and some citizens even fear it
Military: A hardy land and hardy people, the rulers of Uthanarrow felt a military was a price worth paying. Though it is not the most advanced in the world the military of the realm is large and its fighters are determined, these warriors mostly favour old weapons rather than newer more advanced ones and are mostly relegated to the North of the realm. Town guards can be found in the North but are rarely, if ever, stationed in the Southern settlements
Climate: The coldest of the Kruenfeld realms, summer and autumn are almost none existent, instead long winters that melt away to cold and rainy springs dominate the climate
