A half-Orc, half-Human, Grimgar was something of an outcast in the small town he was born in - one of the only remaining established settlements in all of Aberia. He lived just ten miles from the wall at the border of Clava and Aberia, so his Orcish father was an outcast. Likewise, his mother was ostracized for marrying an Orc, many going as far to say she had committed a heresy by having an Aberian Wedding with an Orc.
After Grimgar turned five, he and his parents moved to Baliklav, hoping they'd be better off. Luckily, they were able to make their way to the lands of Olig ap Stratheim, who did, in fact, welcome them with open arms. Grimgar was raised alongside the other children, aging more like a Human than an Orc. It was during this time that he befriended Aliera.
When he was twenty-one, he was asked to take up arms alongside the Baliklavan forces during the War of Seven Nations. He fought well, ending up with command of three longships. He also bolstered the skills he had as an Aard, learning the ways of the Astozian Knights from some of his comrades and subordinates, earning himself the honorary title of Knight by the war's end.
At the end of the war, he asked Aliera if she would marry him, proposing with a bearded throwing axe. She accepted, and the two are now married with an infant. Aliera took over as Storm Baron following her father's death, making Grimgar her co-ruler.
