Aard

Aard are a special class of viking from Baliklav. While all vikings are skilled sailors, and adept guerrilla fighters, the Aard are able to call upon Cosmic Energy in order to not only imbue their weapons with additional power, but actually create weapons, shields, and armor from nothing more than magic.
This is a skill they learned from Theogorn, the Third Son when he was in Baliklav. While they use the same technique that gave way to the Astozian Knights' Living Armament, theirs is a much more practical application. One could really consider an Astozian Knight to be a Mage Knight, as most of their skill lies squarely in the realm of sorcery, but an Aard is simply an enhanced viking, bolstered with the ability to use cosmic energy.
It has been shown that a deeper knowledge of weapons crafting leads to a more effective application of the Aard skills. This has led many Aard to become bi-vocational, working both as Smiths and vikings, so as to improve their weapon, shield, and armor creation.
