Geography
The planet withers under the dying sun. River and lake beds run dry even as melted glaciers raise the water levels. Fires rage through what remains of brushlands and eat entire towns whole. Far enough from the equator, things might feel livable. For now.Lifeforms
Mass extinction is well underway. Animals born here will soon die here, starving and unable to survive in the heat. What humans remain do so out of stubborn refusal to leave their belongings behind, or out of hope that they can take what others left.Plot Seeds
- A doomsday cult is among those still left on the planet. Surely they can't hurt anyone but themselves at this point, right?
- Several pre-tech facilities still exist on the planet's surface, like the manufactory that created the Hope. What else is worth exploring before it's gone for good?
- The asteroid that was formerly a pirate bay now sits vacant. Who might decide to fill that blank space?
Future Goals
- This region has some of my oldest articles, and I've gotten much better at writing and designing them since. I'd like to rewrite these old ones at some point.
- Astronius was created as a dying planet, with its populous seeking to evacuate. I didn't think its history was important, but knowing what cultures have been lost will make the planet's death more meaningful.
