The secret second child of Myria Dell and Anders Arion, Julian was raised alongside his twin by Anders but to all the world he was known as Anders' foster son, hidden amongst several other boys Anders fostered at the same time. Only Anders, Myria, and the then-princesses' midwife knew the truth for a long time; Anders told his family his secret on his deathbed, acknowledging Julian as his second heir, which should have made Julian the head of the Arion family in Delryn; but Julian chose to continue to serve his twin's family in Arion and did not claim his birthright, though he accepted additional lands and honors in Arion from his twin.
