The South Hatoian Weapons Company
Founded early in 588, South Weapons would go on to lead the way in weapons manufacturing and delivery for nearly two generations. This would include the Shuldt Arcanarms, and the First armored Carriages to see combat.
History
Founded by Miriam Leland Shuldt in the late 580's after a string of bad luck in Pere work sent her back to her families farms.
Its founding marked the turning point for the Unified Peoples of Kesanage and The Empire of Five Kings , as dealings between the two, specifically lead by the rulers of Peoples of Hato leadership.
Early work was met with little review, and distaste when used. Certain aspects of the weapons were never truly functional to everyone, and while the owners of the small company (really a small grouping of local trades guild smiths under the employ of Miriam) promised that each had worked and that they would look in to the issue, little was done to resolve the issue.
Certain events, mostly involving an increase in reliable trade of Kasanakuki and a revamped technique for design, led to an increase in the use of SHWC arms and armor. More use resulted in further exposure, this led to further review which was now turning a tad more favorable. While the locals of SHWC's founding city were vastly limited in the concentration of individuals capable of using the weapons to their full extent, the larger range of military arcanists and warriors were beginning to rely on them.
Stories of soldiers being cornered and outmatched walking away having slain their opponents drew the Companies works more and more credibility, as those who survived spoke of how their body moved with strength and energy they never thought possible, and their weapon responding with attributes that were only rumored to have been possible. This would later become a successful way for the Empire to assist in finding and training new Arcanists. The truth of the matter was that the weapons were reliant on the user possessing a supply, however minute, of arcane/ethereal energy and possessing the basic ability of channeling that energy. As it so happens, this is largely difficult without proper training and understanding.
By the middle of the 650's, SHWC released their newest weapons, Arcanarms. Based on the currently failed designs used by general Baso-engineers, the Arcanarms were "Firearms" in design alone, relying on the individuals energy supply once more, but requiring a tad more training to accomplish. After the passing of Miriam, her Children would go on to direct the innovations and expansions of the Arcanarms, but shifting it towards the rear of their intended schedule.
Designs from Miriam involving a Carriage of metal and designed for siege combat would later be adopted in 714, being used for the first time as a safer alternative to transportation for soldiers during sieges and wall-scaling's. Further iterations would go on to use the modern advancements present and while SHWC would slowly lose its edge and shrink to the outskirts once more after financial mismanagement, it has and will remain a staple of the Hatoian Economic Landscape.
