Second Expansionary War Military Conflict in World of Arsteria | World Anvil

Second Expansionary War

The Second Expansionary War was the Result of the pressure constantly being placed on the Desert Peoples. The combination of the Imperial War Fronts putting taxes on the local cities and expanding further into the Desert.

The Conflict

Prelude

The fallout of the First Expansionary War created a force vacuum that consumed the desires all that looked upon it. With their First War basically considered a complete success, the many Nobles of the Empire of Five Kings were let loose to help capture lands all the way down to the Desert Edge.
The following years after the First Expansionary War were considered a Golden Age for Imperial Expansion. The Cities and resources pulled from those years would help to establish the Empire as a luxurious group of Kingdoms dedicated to Exuberance and decadence. This over use and over production of luxury items eventually led to a dissonance being developed between the Royal Imperial Houses & their capital, and the rest of the Kingdoms. Given the basis of autonomy between the Kingdoms and the Empire as a whole, it came as no real surprise when a Group of Desert Nobility roused an army and began to assault the Imperial War Fronts.

Deployment

The first few years of the "War" saw little actual counter to the Royal Triumvirate of the Desert Sea , allowing them to reach all the way into Bonsuian and begin to attack the Bonsuian Capital city. The loss of life was catastrophic and was met with nearly no real assistance. Only the combined forces of the local militaries were present to provide a counter attack.
By 110 FP Imperial Knight Officer General Viltran was being elevated to a higher position of leadership and began to call for the combined forces of the Empire to be rallied. Under Viltrans command, the armies of the Empire began to force the Royal Triumvirate armies back towards the Southern Desert. During their years of controlling the Imperial War Fronts and parts of the Bonsuian Kingdom, the Royal Triumvirate began to establish cities and settlements within the actual borders of the Empire, and these were used to stage the early offenses for the war.

Battlefield

The war was largely fought in the fields and cities of the Empire as a whole, and this would be one of the first times that the Imperial Citizens would see the wars actual effects for their own eyes. Cities and citizens were burned and razed in defiance of the Empires control and their ruling aristocracy, this would only feed the vengeful desire slowly building in the Empires citizenry.
