Kingdom of Kirketil

... and praise the goddess Sunbea for delivering us a champion! Champions they are to have left they most wicked life to come here, to defend us! Praise house Kirketil! Praise the Kings wit, and cunning, and... - Record of ravings from local drunk, Pere Tobias of Aldonarch, 458
Standing alone against the constant tyranny of an Imperial system wildly out of check, the House of Kirketil stands as protectors against these villains. Uoku Kirketil abandoned his claim to his imperial lineage and instead chose to side with the peoples being robbed and murdered. House Kirketil established a fort across the vast, bloodied flatlands before the Elia River. From this place, and this place alone, they stand guard against the forces of evil.

History

The Kingdom of Kirketil officially came into existence during the summer of 456, after a particularly bloody campaign against the forces of the Imperial Western Front. Uoku Kirketil was crowned Iron King of Kirketil and the city surrounding the original town was renamed to Kirketil in their honor.   Before the Banner King united the Free Cities, or the Southern Merchants of the Expanse had settled along the coasts, existed the tribes of Bulsuno, Fianzorfed, and Inhuzed. During the First Expansionary War these tribes were forced into ramshackle monarchies, simply for the sake of convenience for the Imperial Commanders who were unaccustomed to their tribal structuring. For the next hundred years or so, the empire raided and pillaged along the coasts and across the Sudella (Later changed to Elia) River. These people were either refugees from the conflicts, deserters, or criminals looking to form a safe haven. Occasional towns would crop up and become established, however this only opened them up to the raiding of the Imperial Troops of the Front.    The Southwestern Revolt created a vacuum in certain areas around the Western Front, and Uoku was a keen man in seeing opportunity. He deserted his post as a noble and Imperial, choosing instead to make a life for himself as a trader and farmer. It was some number of years into his new life that his world was changed entirely. Conflicts in the surrounding villages were beginning to grow too bloody, too many lives were being lost over a pointless prospect.    Uoku gathered a fair number of the surviving villagers and trained them to fight. Then they worked their way through the small guards and skirmish parties sent to pillage. Several months later and Uoku had amassed a sizable army of 10,000 strong. He took his army and established a position across the long flatlands between the Sudella river and the proper lands of the west. Here he could see any of the raiding parties as they made for land, and could persuade them otherwise.    For Ten years the Kirketil house held their position as military leader and commander of a makeshift army. The empire decided that it had had enough of the rebellious group and dispatched a regiment to managed and disperse them. 20,000 able soldiers, Knight Officers, Knights, Arcanists, and nobles of the empire rode out to meet the mans army in open combat. The battle raged for nearly a day before Uoku routed the enemy and drove them back across the river. Elia, Uoku's wife, was slain during the battle and so Uoku dedicated his defense of the land and river under a new name. He would defend Kirketil, its people, and the Elia River from any harm that my befall them.

I like the general history and that you dove into the details of the key leader to tell a story about revolt. That seems like a much more memorable way to share details about a kingdom - and how they might talk about their heritage. I'd like to see more headings and sections but the whole history section was easy to read thru with the story.   The family tree didn't load for me but that is a fun idea for the heading, excellent component to include for a monarchy.

The history is particularly interesting, I see why you like my post about details. Don't hesitate to take a look at my work Special Agent, like I said, I also put a lot of emphasis on details and I you will like this.
