Egyan Natenbinten
Sir (a.k.a. The Fanged Demon)
Born to poverty and given little chance to rise above his keep, Egyan earned his name from saving a crewmates life during a raging storm and shifting of the tides. He would later go on to assist the Admiralty of Niruk in the defense against a rising Pirate threat in the early 700's.

Personal history
Born without a name and left abandoned in the outer cities of Niruk, the young boy was taken in by a local family. He was well treated, the family had been trying for a child for sometime, but kept longing to join his father at sea. Instead he would often work at the smith with his mother, an experienced blacksmith and former soldier, toiling away at the furnace and anvil until his youth was gone and the showings of strength began.
By twelve, still without name, the boy given to the sailing corp to work with his father. That season saw him save a fellow aboard his fathers ship, earning the name Egyan for his swiftness and strength mirroring the marvels of the tides. Egyan, took well to the sea and earned his keep with dedication enough to earn recognition from the upper admiralty. By twenty Egyan was given station as second in command aboard one of the larger vessels in the local navy. He was educated with the basics and found to lack any real aspects of arcane control, this would unfortunately remove him from candidacy for the Position of Captain or further, as it had been all but written that a Leader must posses the basics of Arcane control in order to combat the unknown dangers of the seas and pirates.
At twenty two Egyan deserted and stole a small vessel from under the Niruken Navies control, sailing with the crew to a known pirate refuge in the Extinct Expanse. They eventually arrived in the inner coasts of the Free Merchants and Free Tribes, joining the individuals that had begun calling themselves "Real, Honor Bound, Pirates" and taking up their banner in the process.
As a Newly appointed Captain, Egyan became Captain Egyan of the Crestfell and outfitted his crew with family and friends alike. He'd convinced both his parents to join his escape and worked closely with his mother to design the first known "Blasting Powder Cannon". A devastating device weighing over 3 tons, the Crestfell was forced to accommodate and expand to adjust. This both pushed the limits of the drydocks, blacksmiths, and engineers of the locals.
The newly outfitted Crestfell, Captain Egyan at the helm, would go on to sink ships and pillage the waters of the Enchanted Crossing and Equiswade for nearly two decades, using a mixture of superior firepower and witty maneuvers to outmatch nearly all opponents in his path.
In his late 50's the Wolf of the Seas turned to assisting the Empire in dethroning a recent upstart captain in a freshly captured battleship. The new captain had demanded that the Crestfell and Captain Egyan turn over the plans for the Cannons so that all may benefit from their power. Egyan was hesitant however, He knew the power and devestation they could wreak if they were unleashed by someone less concerned with the safety of innocents.
The upstart accepted Egyans refusal and instead captured and tortured Egyans mother and father, killing both after failing to gain the information and eventually stealing one of the cannons from Egyans fleeing ship during a surprise raid.
With his former home of the Pirate coasts no longer friendly, Captain Egyan took the offer of the Empire to turn Privateer and to sink all Pirates of the new Upstart Captain. In exchange for the position and clemency for crimes, Egyan was forced to give up the plans he'd so desperately held for so long, and taught the empire to construct and use the now synonymous Crestfell Cannons.
Egyans career came to a head after a battle in the Niruken Eastern Bay, the Crestfell led the charge against he upstart pirate and saw its destruction, unfortunately this came at the means of sacrificing the Crestfell to sink the commanding ship. He was awarded the appointment of Admiral, something unheard of at the time, and was given a new ship to reward his service.
With a majority of the crew having passed away during the sinking of the Crestfell, Egyan had to fill out the roster with new souls. However, they found the formerly Fanged Demon to have aged out of his constant desire for conflict. His tempers had cooled and his efforts were lacking in comparison to his glory days. Slowly he lost crew to newer stations within the Niruken Navy, forcing him to travel further out of Empire control and adopted former pirates into his crew.
Regrettably, if not obviously, this new wave of hotblooded pirates saw the opportunity to take an Imperial ship outfitted with the original creator of Cannons personal designs on board. One night, spurred on by a fit of drinking, the crew tied up and beat Egyan, then tossed his body overboard leaving his remains to wash ashore some time later, mostly devoured and morphed by the sea-life.
