The Northern Kingdom of Arvanor

The Northern Kingdom is the brainchild of Raylorn and Justarin Hawkmoon, along with Rhonwen Brunwin, princess and heir of Brineven. When their father, Valdemar Hawkmoon died in 2283, Justarin inherited the throne. he met Rhonwen at a state dinner in his honor. The two inheritors hit it off and concocted an audacious plan.   They would be wed and combine their kingdoms into one “Northern Kingdom”, leaving her father Alaric as Grand Duke of Brineven and making Justarin’s brother, Raylorn, Grand Duke of Hawkmoon. The wedding was on the Spring Equinox, 2289.   They would invite Ulric Eisenhart, the true Commodore of Darcos and Duke Malvynos Dimmeroch, ruler of the Laughing Vale (aka Lonely Coast). For Malvynos’ and Ulric’s loyalty to the Northern Kingdom, Brineven and Hawkmoon would create an “Army of Repatriation” that Ulric would lead to retake Darcos. Ulric and (more importantly) Mayvynos agreed.   Duke Malvynos married Justarin's older sister, Adrianna, and their child was declared as the successor to Duke Raylorn of Hawkmoon, who had no interest in fathering children. With the Hawkmoon-Dimmeroch line poised to become the next Dukes of Hawkmoon, King Justarin proposed ceding the Laughing Vale to Ulric Eisenhart's son Wieland as the Duchy of Eisen.   Early successes against the humanoid threats of Brineven, Hawkmoon, and the Laughing Vale convinced Tarnauld to back the Northern Kingdom with gold and soon the Duchy of Tarnauld was added to the kingdom.   With Tarnauld's gold, everything fell into place by the year 2302. Under Ulric's command, the orcs were decimated and the former city of Darcos was reclaimed. Although Darcos itself was in ruins, King Justarin and Queen Rhonwen chose the ruins as their new capital, and vowed to remake the city into a shining beacon of hope for the old empire.
